Vocational Ministry

in the
Punjab
The majority of believers (where we have established churches in Punjab) are living under bleak circumstances.  Most of the believers have accrued such debt to their landowners, that they have become "slaves" for life in order to attempt to pay back their high-interest loans.  Therefore, the possibility of the churches becoming indigenous is very slight.  Something needs to change in order to help these new believers grow in their faith.  Something needs to be done to help the churches become indigenous, not only spiritually (as a part of the body of Christ) but also financially (to enable them to further their ministry outreach).  Many of the younger generation are beginning to see the plight of their parents and do not desire to fall into the same trap.  Therefore, the vocational ministry in the Punjab is set up to help young adults who have not yet been forced to commit themselves to this cycle of slavery.  By helping people establish their own source of income, new believers are not only able to bypass the snare of "enslavement" but they are also able to help the churches through their tithes and offerings.
