The Christian Church of Punjab Celebrates Christmas
Christmas was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at different places throughout Punjab, India. The occasion was marked by hapiness and fervour. For the first time ever, a Christmas procession moved through the streets and markets of one of the villages; for the people around it was something totally new and we got very good feedback from the crowds. At every place "langar" (fellowship lunch) was served. It is usually a combination of "poori" (fried chapati), "chaney" (white gram) and potato with "halwa" (sweet puding). This is the standard Indian menu in Punjabi villages and is eaten with great relish.
