In 1999, Disciple Makers began a church plant in the 3rd largest city of Honduras, La Ceiba. The goal of this church plant was to establish a vibrant, indigenous and reproducing church with national leadership and support. Today, the church is led by national leaders.

Rene del Cid (pictured with his wife, Pati) pastors at the church in La Ceiba. Rene has recently taken on this ministry after being a member of the church for a couple years. He is the first national minister of the church after our church planting missionaries established this church. Rene and Pati previously worked with a ministry near La Ceiba, where Rene was chaplain at a hospital and Pati translated for groups coming from the U.S. Please remember to keep Rene & Pati, as well as the church in La Ceiba in your prayers.
